About Us

The Step Up Inn is an exclusive private pay Inn for men only.  We take both drug and alcohol addiction patients as well as dual diagnosis.  Working professionals are also welcome.

This is a dry facility, at the Step Up Inn we pride ourselves on having higher standards than most facilities when it comes to enforcement of the rules,  all medications are locked up and distributed by the manager.

Located 4 blocks from the beach and close to many local business the Step Up Inn is in a prime location within a safe, quiet neighborhood with plenty of off street parking.

Close to public transport links, the Step Up Inn is positioned centrally between Boston and New York and is a short 5 minute walk to the train station or local bus links.

The 1800’s colonial property boasts: 4 floors, full laundry room, yoga and workout room, meeting room, self service kitchen and bright spacious rooms.

The Step Up Inn is fitted with standard facilities including ceiling fans in all bedrooms, central air conditioning throughout, free Wi-Fi and a complete sprinkler system with smoke, fire and carbon monoxide detectors.  The property is kept safe and secure with security cameras at all entrances, doors lock automatically and all guests are given key-coded entry when visiting. At The Step Up Inn we pride ourselves on maintaining a very clean modern facility that feels like a home.

A typical Day

What a typical day looks like at The Step Up Inn…

Each day there is a mandatory, which covers topics including: relapse prevention, money management, budgeting, life planning, resume building, employment preparation and volunteering.

Men are encouraged to volunteer at the community center or the homeless shelters

Combination of scheduled time and meditative time, which contributes to a healthy, balanced life.

Encouraged to be active members in Alcoholics Anonymous/ Narcotics Anonymous community programs.

Breathalyzers are administered three times per day, random drug screens occur at minimum, one time per week.

Each guest takes responsibility of a chore within the house, the more effort that is put into the home, the more pride residents feel within the home.

 

 

Rules of the Inn…

  • Zero tolerance policy for using drugs and alcohol.
  • Mandatory breathalyzer and urine tests will be required for each resident.
  • A curfew will be in effect during the weekdays however this can be handled on a case by case basis to allow for work commitments.
  • All residents are expected to attend daily meetings within the Inn.
  • Cleanliness is a main priority, personal living spaces must be kept clean at all times as well as main living areas.
  • No female visitors allowed on property unless they are a family member and are approved by management.
  • Each resident holds a moral obligation to uphold the anonymity of other residents within the house.
